Vanilla Kush is a strain that brings out the vanilla in pure Indica Kush strains. The mother came from a hash plant from Kashmir. Kashmir is a valley in the Himalayan mountains on the Northwestern side of India. This area is known for hashmaking and the mother plant comes from a high quality landrace strain that produces great hashish. The father is a Hindu Kush plant that comes from Afghanistan. Barney’s Farm combined these two strains to make for a great tasting and powerful Kush strain.
These kush strains are well-known for their consistent growth patterns. Vanilla Kush likes to branch and will form eight symmetrical side branches. To get the most yield, you’ll want to encourage Vanilla Kush to spread out as a multiple branching plant. She performs well in hydroponics or soil, and does the best with a screen of green training method. She will finish flowering in around 9 weeks indoors and can reach about 2 feet tall. Vanilla Kush will finish around the end of September when grown outdoors. She’ll take about 2 months to finish and deliver up to 8 ounces of sticky vanilla bud per plant.
Vanilla Kush is a medium dark green plant that stays the same up until the end of flowering. Most of resin accumulates closer to the leaf base. As the plant gets closer to harvest time, the trichomes darken into little balls of gold and red, while the hairs turn orange. Vanilla Kush forms large and dense colas like most other Kush strains are known for. She has rich and intense aromas that smell like herbal lavender mixed in with vanilla bean and citrus peels.
