The Tundra is a regional area that is known to have a short growing season and rough winters. The plants that grow in that area are typically low to the ground and can withstand colder temperature than most other plants. Typically, most people think of the tundra as a place that is dusted with frost, which makes the Tundra a suitable name for this marijuana strain.
Dutch Passion Seeds developed the Tundra as an autoflowering strain. They took the champion outdoor strain, Passion #1 as the first part of this cross. Passion #1 was created in the 1970s in California. She was developed with pest and disease resistance in mind, making her for a great outdoor strain. Then Dutch Passion Seeds started a program to combine the autoflowering ruderalis plants with traditional strains. They got some quite exceptional results. Passion #1 was part of those great results. They were able to retain the potency of Passion #1 along with its high to create a strain that flowers automatically regardless of light schedule.
Tundra can be planted outdoors as early as the beginning of spring or as late as August. She will automatically start and finish the flowering process 56 to 77 days from the time the seeds sprout. When growing the Tundra indoors, a light cycle of 20 hours on and 4 hours off will provide the best growth results. She is also tough against mold and bud rot.
The Tundra strain forms a small and compact bush that has very little branching. She will grow for about 2 weeks in a vegetative stage and will be about 2 feet tall. After that, she will automatically enter the flowering phase for an additional 6 to 9 weeks. They will finish around 3 feet tall with about 1 to 2 ounces of high quality bud per plant.
The Tundra has firm buds that are covered in THC crystals. She has a strong body and up high that promotes relaxation. The Tundra buds smell like citrus and fruity spices similar to grapefruits and lemons. Tundra is a wonderfully relaxing weed that has great socialization qualities.
