OG #18 was a side strain specifically selected from a set of the original feminized OG Kush seeds. After spending some time with this phenotype, it was determined that is definitely a keeper. DNA decided to keep her and feminize the OG #18. When compared to the original OG Kush, OG #18 is more sour and resembles Chem Dawg in taste, but has an OG-Chem high.
OG #18 uses space better than her sister strains. She has about a one third increase in yields on average than OG Kush. She will branch out alot and stretches some during vegetation, but once flowering starts she will take off. She forms a bush shape and will nearly double in size. DNA Genetics recommens pinching the branches to direct growth to the buds and away from wasted paths. Another difference between OG #18 and OG Kush is that the buds are larger and become rock hard as it nears harvest time. Mold isn’t a problem with OG #18, but for some reason spider mites appear to be attracted to this strain’s riches. She is also good to bounce back from lack of nutrients, but doesn’t like hot climates like other stains. Around 9 weeks of flowering, you can expect to have shiny and resin-covered buds that twinkle in the light.
OG #18 is musky and starts smelling from the time she sprouts out of the ground. Take care with odor control because you don’t want curious neighbors knocking on the door or else you might have to share your stash. The smell gets even stronger during flowering. Once the buds finish curing, you will have a perfect product that has a great Kush flour and sour undertones. She has a space-out high that is long and can put you in a trance. You will most likely have tunnel vision with this weed and will not recognize time pass you by as you enjoy it. Due to the unique qualities of OG #18′s high she is more suitable for staying up late, playing video games and doing leisurely activities when you have lots of time to spare. Leave work and driving for when you’re sober.
OG #18 won the Indica Category for the Reserva Privada series in the 2009 and 2010 High Times Cannabis Cup. She has also won the 2010 Europe Champion Cup and the 2010 Spannabis Indoor Hydro Cup.
