LAPD means LA Confidential Purple Diesel. This strain is a combination of the great Purple Deisel and LA Confidential, which had been developed in Los Angeles and was made popularly available through DNA Genetics. LA Confidential primarily descends from OG Kush. Keeping all of its great qualities, like the Indica hashiness, sweet flavors, and very trippy and dreamy high. Purple Diesel does a good job of preventing the lazy feeling of LA Confidential and makes it a more active high that is great for artistic pursuits.
LAPD is a 50/50 cross that can perform when grown indoors or outdoors. Greenhouses are the best place to grow LAPD, though, but does well in soil, hydroponics and SOG or screen of green growing styles. LAPD does particularly well in hot southwestern climates in the US like: California, Arizona, and Nevada. She is susceptible to mold due to tight bud formation, so if you’re environment is wet keep and eye out. LAPD tends to stay short like its Indica parent, but if the light is kept too far away she will stretch during flowering and take up space.
You can expect to harvest LAPD after 7 weeks indoors or around early to mid October when she is grown outdoors or in a greenhouse. She forms incredible dense and compact buds that are covered with crystals and have red and purple overtones.
LAPD has some good yield potential. You can expect around 2.5 to 3.5 ounces of great bud per plant indoors. In a sea of green she will yield around 300g per square meter. Outdoor yields can reach over a pound of bud per plant. CA Bean Bank prefers to grow their plants indoors due to a concentration of the high, rather than growing it outdoors and making it more mellow. The high starts of being a very heady high, making for trip, and then eventually it calms down and gets you sedated. It has a great grape and pine taste that is earthy and has a peppery after taste.
