Haze Mist is the combination of a South Indian mother and an Original Haze father. They’re both pure Sativa strains. Flying Dutchmen has been in possession of the South Indian and Skunk #1 in their strain library since around the mid-1980s. They’ve been used as the building blocks for much of their most celebrated and notable strains. Haze Mist was bred from these parents as a way to combine both a sweet and sour taste along with an amazingly psychedelic and mind-bending high.
Haze Mist is a pure Sativa strain that is tall and slender. She has slim lime green leaves and long internode spaces. You can grow Haze Mist just about anywhere, whether its indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse. When growing outdoors, make sure you’re below 30 degrees North latitude or else it won’t work. Outdoor grown plants can reach up to 13 feet and have been proven to consistently survive Dutch winters, but they’re more at home in tropical or sub-tropical places with lengthier growing seasons. When grown in the tropics you can expect 10 to 17 ounces in yield and a plant that will mature in around 14 to 16 weeks when grown from seed and around 12 to 14 weeks from cuttings.
Haze Mist is easy to grow indoors, so you don’t have to be a Sativa expert to do well. You can expect the best results by using high quality soil that drains well and has lots of organic matter. Flying Dutchmen prefer to grow their seedling with 14 hours of light and then cut the seedling. They then root them under 10 hours of light until they begin to show sex. Then the female seedling are cut and transplanted and flowered with 12 hours of light. If they don’t mature after 3 weeks of flowering, they then decrease the light period by 30 minutes per week until every cutting is mature.
Haze Mist does well with a medium amount of nutrients and it is slowly increased through the cyle and flushed at the end to get rid of the nutrient taste. Don’t overdo the nitrogen because it causes the leaves to lose their lime green color. Growers can prune back these plants once or twice early in the growing period and then tie or stake down the plant for maximum yield with limited space. Some people prefer to prune this strain back up until the fourth week of flowering also. They will then continue to grow for about 8 weeks with a 12/12 light cycle. Indoor yields can vary greatly depending on your style of growing. Most Haze Mist plants produce 200 to 250 grams per square meter.
Their buds are long and slender and have a sweet and spicy aroma. The buds will change from a lime green color to gold with subtle purple coloring around harvest time. The end product has an earthy taste that is pretty spicy with sweetness undertones. Haze Mist delivers a great mind altering and psychedelic high with virtually no body effects. Be careful with this strain because you can get too high. This strain is the preferred strain for artists and musicians.
