El Nino was developed by Greenhouse Seeds in 1996. This Indica/Sativa hybrid was created from South American and Indian marijuana strains. El Nino was stabilized and made available in 1998, it also took first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in the Bioplant category during the same year.

Greenhouse’s El Nino was named after this powerful weather phenomenon for good reason. After smoking El Nino, you get washed over with intense waves, almost a too overwhelming stoney sensation, which is perfect for those who love to get wasted off their weed. Immediately after smoking El Nino your social circle will expand as you experience a warm, sociable, fuzzy feeling that may also cloud your logical thinking with its strong buzz.

El Nino is recommended as a sleeping aid or a good, relaxing way to wind down your evening right before bed. This plant grows medium to tall, as well as having many side branches with plenty of budding sites. El Nino has short, dense, flowers that are loaded with resin and a taste that reminds you of lemon. El Nino performs better as multiple branch plant in an indoor garden, potentially yielding an average amount of great quality bud for a plant like this. Due to the resin and crystals on the bud, El Nino is a particular good hashish plant.

Due to the equatorial heritage of its parent strains, El Nino grows well outdoors, but only within 40 degrees latitude from the equator. When growing in more temperate regions, Greenhouse Seeds recommends that you grow with a hydroponic setup, though this strain will do just as well in soil.
